HANNAH HASSELL
Hi, I’m Hannah.
My physiotherapy journey began when I was 18 years old following a horrible sporting accident while I was attending a fitness class at my local gym. This resulted in multiple orthopaedic procedures and 2 years going from walking to wheelchair to walking again.

In total I underwent 5 different surgical procedures on both knees and hip. Prior to this I was competing both nationally and internationally in karate.

I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention at Middlesex University, achieving a first-class honour in this subject. I then went on to work as a sports and exercise therapist in private practice and also for a number of sports teams including Queens Park Rangers FC academy team, and Saracens Rugby Club. During this time, I also worked as a personal trainer and sports therapist in a prestigious, resident-only Spa facility.

I then went on to complete a degree in Physiotherapy at Coventry University, again achieving a first-class honour. I quickly developed a specialist interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and began to develop my experience working in both private practice and the NHS.

I am very proud to work full time at the prestigious Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust in Birmingham - a centre of excellence for musculoskeletal conditions with a world-wide reputation. Here I work in both Musculoskeletal outpatients and inpatients and have developed my knowledge and understanding of specialist Musculoskeletal conditions including Orthopaedic Oncology and rehabilitation.

I believe in a patient centred approach to all physiotherapy and sports therapy treatment, with a very large emphasis on patient-based education and rehabilitation. I am trained in Massage Therapy, Acupuncture Therapy and Electrotherapy and combine these treatment methods along with the exercise rehabilitation techniques in order to achieve the best outcomes with my client base.

I also have a specialist interest in research and am currently in the process of developing my physiotherapy research portfolio.

My knowledge and experience in physiotherapy both as a clinician and as a patient is what drives me to deliver the very best evidence-based treatment.
